Something Special for Ms. Dulany
The “pretty” cake because she likes pretty things…..
The next one represents the “farm girl” part of her personality…..
And last but not least…….The Cowgirl Cake
Each cake was a different flavor. The most popular by far was the banana nut cake. I had never made this one before, but had been told it is the birthday girls favorite type of cake. So, I decided to give it a try. It turned out great. Below is my recipe.
1 French Vanilla Cake Mix
2 Bananas smashed
1 Small package banana pudding
1 Cup Water
1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
1/2 to 1 Cup Slivered Almonds
Mix all ingredients on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Pour batter in two 8 or 9 inch baking pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. I never set the timer, but watch my cakes like a hawk. I used a cream cheese frosting before decorating with fondant. I also used banana pudding for the filling. It was very moist and delicious.
